Publication Summer 2021 SHE THE JACKAL by Lex Lander
SHE HAD THE BALLS TO DO IT. BUT WAS IT ENOUGH?
The early life of Eileen Crown, born Eibhlen Korovina, British by birth with a Russian father, was dominated by dread of her father incurring the wrath of the Russian state in retribution for his activities in helping political dissidents flee to the West. When the Kremlin finally catches up with him and dispenses the ultimate retribution, Eileen resolves to avenge him. It won’t be a cakewalk. The object of her venom is the best protected national leader in the world and unlikely to put himself in the line of fire.
In association with the underground green movement, GreenWar who have plans of their own for the same leader, she recruits a man with the right credentials. Jointly they make elaborate preparations to remove the villain of the piece during one of his regular trips abroad - this time to Australia.
Their planning is meticulous and as much by luck as by good judgement they manage to set up a place, a time, and a method. On the day all seems to go as per plan - only it doesn’t. A major hiccup means that the planning must be re-started from zero and another method devised. This time around though, Eileen will need more than just her nerve to see her through and survive.
